On Tuesday 29th May 2018, the annual Toronto Newcomer Day celebration was held at Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto. Toronto’s welcomed newcomers to the city and celebrated their valuable contributions.

Nathan Phillips Square was packed as immigrants explored over 50 community agencies and family friendly activities all working hard to make the lives of new Canadians better.  The vast array of information provided at the event was even more than last year’s Newcomer Day celebration.

The offerings that were available to newcomers at the fair are also available to all newcomers in Toronto.  So, if you missed the fair, don't worry.  There was a great deal of opportunity to learn about the many child care subsidies and services that the city of Toronto offer to help newcomers to Canada and their families settle into life here with ease.  Occupation specific language training is also something that many immigrants to Canada can benefit from shortly after they arrive.

The Toronto Newcomer Day celebrations included a community citizenship ceremony on Nathan Phillips Square.
