Practicing Law in Canada

Internationally trained lawyers are required to complete a two-part process of accreditation and licensing before they can be licensed to practice law in Canada. The entire process can take two to four years to complete, and involves obtaining both a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA), and a license to practice law in the individual provinces or territories.
