Dear stustin@destcan.com,

If you're arriving in Canada soon and looking for a place to rent, we have good news—Canada is gradually transitioning into a renter's market.

Asking rents and rental demand in Canada's largest cities, such as Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary, continue to fall, resulting in lower rents and more choices for newcomers and international students.

According to the latest October rental housing report, asking rents in Toronto are now down 8.7 percent from October 2023. In Vancouver, they are down 9.1 percent year over year!

More good news - experts predict that rent prices will continue to fall well into 2025.

But if you're considering settling in a smaller city, be warned that rents in some—such as Edmonton, Alberta or St. Catharines, Ontario—continue to rise. So, it's critical to do your research before arriving in Canada.

This month's Prepare for Canada and Rentals for Newcomers newsletter contains vital information to help you find the right rental plan. Our mission is to help you and your family make the best housing decisions possible.

We also offer three proven practical FREE housing solutions for you:

  • Rentals for Newcomers (our newcomer-friendly FREE rental listings site)
  • Working with a Real Estate Agent  (partnering for FREE with a realtor gives you a competitive edge in your search for a rental)
  • Rooms for Newcomers (being a housemate and renting a room in a Canadian home is easy, safe, and cheaper. Registration is FREE)

One of these rental solutions could be the right one for you and your family.

Also,  remember to register for our FREE monthly Renting Webinar for Newcomers. You'll receive expert advice and helpful tips about renting your first home in Canada (sign up here now for FREE).

We also have FREE information about insurance (travel/medical/health and tenant insurance) which will help you and your family have security and peace of mind in Canada.

We hope you enjoy this month's stories and will join us at our next FREE renting webinar.
